Week in Review: Frugal Fashionista, Recipes of the Week

The last couple weeks have come with slightly cooler weather, which has been MUCH more bearable than the 90 degree days at the end of May. Check out some of my everyday fashion from the last couple of weeks:

‘Casual Friday’ last week.

leopard

The jean jacket says casual, but the shoes add polish.
green nacy

Love this color combination.

I also did quite a bit of cooking this week. One of my favorite things to do is try new recipes (another way Pinterest has me sucked in!). Since I’ve moved home, my mom has been loving that I cook healthy dinners most evenings. Below are a few recipes I tried last week. Click the picture to find the recipe.

broccoli and perfect chicken

Roasted hummus broccoli and “perfect chicken”

naked turkey burgers

“Naked” turkey burgers.Important tidbit about these is that you cannot expect them to taste like beef. They are turkey after all!

Grilled-Tostada

Grilled chicken tostadas – one of my new absolute favorites!

skinny-roasted-parmesan-green-beans

A very simple side dish: roasted parmesan green beans.

I was also lucky to get to spend time with some of my favorite people in the last two weeks. Two of my very best friends from high school came to Pittsburgh to visit my boyfriend and I over Memorial Day:

Then, this past weekend, my wonderfully amazing boyfriend came to Charleston for a night, and we got to attend Symphony Sunday – an event held on the lawn of the University of Charleston – with a ton of delicious food and booze.

Officially one of my favorite pictures of us.
