An ode to comfy chic

The older I get (and before you say anything, I’m not claiming that I am old in any way) the farther away I get from the days of wearing yoga pants, a ratty college sweatshirt and UGGs on my ‘comfy’ days. (Ok, I admit it, I’ve never been a fan of UGGs, unless I’m taking out the trash or nursing a hangover BUT you get where I’m going with this.)

Anyway, these days, when I go comfy I tend to go with boyfriend jeans and a slouchy top. The best part about this go-to is that you can dress it up by throwing on some pumps and a blazer or keep it casual with loafers or Chucks:

I love boyfriend jeans with a sweatshirt or sweater. You can wear this look extra casual with loafers, flats or Chucks or step it up a notch and wear pumps or heeled booties.

When I go super casual, one of my other favorites is to pair a pair of leggings and boots with a cozy oversized cardigan. I usually wear this on a travel day or a day when I know I definitely won’t see anyone I know:

My favorite thing about these comfy looks is that you still look pulled together, NOT like you just rolled out of bed and put slippers on.

What’s your go-to comfy outfit?

  1. Boyfriend jeans, a cute top, and a pair of cute ankle heels make for a nice comfy chic look. 🙂
