As I mentioned, I said YES to the dress last week. While some brides try on tens of hundreds of dresses, I was not that bride.
I started my search at The White Orchid in Pittsburgh, which is just a few miles from my house. My mom and I just happened to pop in one morning, and they were the nicest most honest sales gals I’ve worked with. Here are two I loved on day 1:
The dress on the right is actually blush pink underneath with two very thin, gorgeous layers of lace over it. Left dress look familiar? I actually didn’t realize this dress was so similar to Kate’s reception dress until someone else noticed the similarity:
I loved the above dresses but I knew I couldn’t buy on day 1 so I made a second appointment to look at a few more dresses at White Orchid and at Sorelle in Washington, PA. I have to admit, the service at Sorelle wasn’t great, but I did find a couple dresses that were major contenders:
I loved the illusion neckline on this dress, and the back is amazing!
This next dress was in my top two. The other of which, of course, is the dress I said yes to. Obviously not going to share a picture of that one, you’ll just have to wait!
My biggest tip when wedding dress shopping? Stay true to yourself. The more I tried on, the more I realized what I really wanted in my dress, which is what led me to have that ‘OMG this is the one’ feeling with the dress I went with.Follow along:
