Visit Asheville: What we did

I shared yesterday where we stayed on our trip to Asheville, so today I wanted to share what i wore and what we did while we were there. I highly recommend wandering the streets of Asheville. It’s such a charming city with lots of shops and places to wander in and out of:

We started the night out at Wicked Weed Brewing, one of the more popular breweries in Asheville. The beer was really good, and they had a great outdoor space which was perfect as it was GORGEOUS out:

After, we headed to Bhramari Brewhouse, where we had some amazing fried green tomatoes and loaded fries with pulled pork and some amazing sauce. I was bummed I didn’t get a shot of our food, but it was pretty dark by the time we got our food and we were outside on the patio.

We also hit One World Brewing, which had a cool underground vibe. Mostly because it was, quite literally, in a basement, and you had to go down a flight of stairs to get inside. They also had live music so it really was fun.

There were definitely a few places we’d wished we’d hit that we didn’t get to:

  • As someone who was OBSESSED Downton Abbey (case in point) when it was on, I definitely want to hit The Biltmore next time we’re there. Since we had limited time, we just couldn’t make it work because it takes a big chunk of a day to tour.
  • Sierra Nevada has a location just south of Asheville, but since our trip was somewhat last-minute, all their tours were booked.

For the last part of our trip, we headed about an hour south to the Gorges State Park for a quick hike to Turtleback Falls. The hike is only about 3.7 miles round-trip, so it makes for a fun 1/2 day excursion.

Close to the end of the hike, you'll hit Rainbow Falls, which is a 150ft. waterfall.

Not gona lie, we (ok me..) were nervous, but we slid off Turtleback 3 times. The water flow was heavier than normal, so it was a little scary, but SO much fun and definitely worth it:

Whew. There you have it. Sorry for such a long post, but Asheville has SO much to offer I had to share it all!

I can’t wait to get back and do all the things we didn’t get to do that were on our list.
