You may or may not know that my sweet husband is a pilot. One of the perks of that job is flight benefits. Last week, he happened to be sitting in San Francisco for a few days, and I was able to fly out, literally for 24 hours.
There’s little more fun than a spontaneous trip with no set itinerary. All I knew was that I wanted to grab In ‘n’ Out (#notsorry), and have some seafood. We honestly spent the majority of the day wandering the streets and doing one of my favorite things, looking at the gorgeous architecture.
Since we’d both been before and the bridge was pretty fogged in, we started at In ‘n’ Out (I arrived right at lunch time) and then decided to settle our indulgent lunch with a walk along the water. We headed along the wharf, then up to Lombard Street (super touristy, I know, but I had never seen it).
We kept walking around most of the day, which I know I’ve mentioned is one of my favorite things, but seriously ya’ll, San Fran is another perfect city in which to do that. We did end our day with a trip to see the Painted Ladies (Seth hadn’t been to see them yet) which are always cool to see, then we had some delicious sea food for dinner.
Originally, we were supposed to have a second day to explore, so we saved a photo-op at the bridge for day 2, which obviously didn’t end up happening, because #pilotlife. So I packed my bag and headed back to the ‘Nati.
When we travel, we try really hard to stay ‘off the beaten path‘, which is sometimes easier said than done. We definitely hit some of those more trafficked spots, but I highly recommend trying those, especially if it’s you’re first time there!
