The holidays have officially come and gone, and I’m over here reflecting on 2017 and the incredible adventures we had. I realized that I never got around to posting my final Asheville travel guide! (You can catch where to drink and where to hike here.)
We did a lot of hiking, and drinking but we did our fair share of ‘sightseeing’, too so I’m super excited to share a few of our favorite things to do:
- Battery Park Book Exchange & Champagne Bar – This ended up being the perfect stop for an incredibly rainy day in Asheville. We tucked into this charming multi-level used bookstore. The best part? You can sip a glass of wine or champagne while you browse. (The dream, amiright!?) We spent about two hours wandering around and picking out books, each leaving with a serious stack.
2. Brunch at Biscuit Head – Best. Brunch. Ever. Yes, I said it. Prepare for a bit of a line (probably outside, too) because the restaurant itself is pretty small, but the wait is oh so worth it. I mean, where else can you find a bacon of the day AND a gravy of the day!? We loved our meal here so much we went twice.
3. Donuts at Hole – I truly cannot speak highly enough of this fantastic little shop! We stopped in on our rainy day excursion, and were one of only a few customers in the store (the perks of popping in on a weekday). We quickly realized the donuts were made-to-order, and picked out what we wanted to try. The women behind the counter were the friendliest, and even gave us an extra donut on the house so we could try another flavor. We each got a cup of coffee to sip while we had our donut and it was really a super pleasant experience.
4. Coffee at Vortex Donuts – We met up with one of Seth’s old friends here for coffee and (another) donut. (In our defense, it was a different day.) The vibes here were really great and the coffee was delicious.
