I am so thrilled to share the news of our engagement with everyone! Many of you have been asking for the whole story, so here we go:
Friday evening I left work early, and went to Target. I kept asking Seth if we needed anything and what I could buy, he kept telling me ‘just head home’ and worry about it later. I assumed it was because I shop too much BUT I came home to this lovely note on our bed and a dress laid out:
Needless to say, he knows me well and I didn’t wear the dress he picked out, but ironically opted for a white dress (I had been saying I needed somewhere to wear it because I couldn’t wear it to a wedding, obviously):
Dress: Marshall’s (old!) Shoes: JustFab Bracelet: Vintage Ring: F21 Mav: not impressed
We left around 5:30, and Seth wouldn’t tell me where we were going. As we turned to drive up Mt. Washington, I figured it out – we were heading to Monterey Bay, where we had our first ‘official’ date.
As we got closer and closer to the restaurant, it started to sprinkle rain. Seth was clearly stressed about it, but still insisted we go take a selfie at the overlook across the street from the restaurant. I kept saying, “Hell no I’m wearing a white dress AND I curled my hair – and you want me to do WHAT in the rain!?” (What a biach!)
Finally he convinced me to get the picture. Saying ‘we’ll take one with your phone, then one with mine’:
My last selfie as a non-engaged woman!
Instead of reaching to pull his phone out of his pocket, he pulled out a ring box and got down on one knee:
AND he had our amazing friends hiding in the bushes to capture it all!
I, of course, said YES:
My favorite picture ever. Seriously how cute is this!?
Have to get the shoes in there…
The restaurant was so sweet to give us champagne to celebrate – and the funniest part of the night – one of the valet’s showed us that we made it into his Snapchat story.
This was our amazing view at dinner.
Oreo cheesecake post-delicious dinner! It wouldn’t be Seth & I if cheesecake weren’t in some way involved.
Seth planned the most perfect proposal I could have ever imagined, and I’m so happy to be able to share this exciting news!
MAJOR shoutout to our friends Marcus & Erin for taking pictures during the ordeal and for sharing such a special day with us – ya’ll are the BEST!
I can’t wait to share the journey of engagement and wedding planning with you all!
