Thankfully, the weather this week has been SO much less humid than over the weekend. Seriously, it has turned into the perfect Summer weather, I’m in pure heaven. When I’m not wearing one of my favorite flowy dresses, I always reach for an easy linen blouse and my favorite white jeans or shorts.
This time of year, I love stocking up on easy, affordable blouses like this one. Linen is super breathable and the stripes are perfectly on trend. Added my favorite blush drop earrings and BAM summer outfit perfection. For me, it’s perfect for my casual office.

Hope your weekend is great!
Funny how this time of year I always seem to ditch my darker colors in favor of my white jeans (although ya’ll know I wear those year round) paired with bright colors. Since the mornings are still pretty chilly around here (even when the sun is shining!) I find myself reaching for lighter sweaters and my favorite booties. I’m not quite ready for open toes.. although I’m pretty sure with a high of 71 tomorrow, I think I’ll be ready!
A few weeks ago, fellow Threadie Tamia of The Style Sample came over for a little brunch and styling a new-to-me brand – Lucky Kat.
Something about winter always makes me want to be in full-on hibernation mode, so cozy but chic pieces are absolutely the way to go. I was instantly drawn to Lucky Kat – their affordable boho pieces are super stylish and fun to wear. I was absolutely loving this bell-sleeve sweater.
Ya’ll have got to head to shopluckykat.com to check out all of their 2017 new arrivals!
I’m a firm believer that holiday outfits don’t always have to be based around red and green. (Although mine often do…) Sometimes, you just want to wear your favorite sweater.
I scooped this Free People beauty up on at Charlie Boutique on Small Business Saturday during my visit to Charleston over Thanksgiving, and I can’t stop wearing it. To say I’m obsessed with bell sleeves would be an understatement (evidenced here – this pretty top is coming to the blog in black soon, too) and it has definitely transferred to the winter season, too.

It has been COLD in Cincy the past week! There’s officially no question that winter is here in full force, especially since today is the first ‘official’ day of winter. Despite the cold, there’s nothing I love more than a chunky sweater in cold weather. When I came across this green color at H&M, I knew I had to have it. Oddly, I tend to gravitate toward reds or black and grey in the winter (random, I know) so I didn’t have anything like it. It’s been a great addition this winter, and I’m loving it with black and grey – it makes me feel so chic.

A few weeks ago, the ladies of Thread Cincy and I got together for a fun holiday shoot at Cincy’s latest hot-spot for fashionistas, Finery Boutique. If you’re like me, you know buying a dress for every event (weddings, holiday parties, showers) can be hell on the wallet. Also, I rarely repeat dresses because who wants to be ‘Grammed in the same dress over and over? Enter: Finery where you can rent your next special occasion look.
Seriously, ya’ll – the idea of this place is genius. I love being able to rent a dress, but being able to try on a dress before wearing it is HUGE. I’m petite, so that’s super important. (In fact, several of the dresses I tried on at the store I thought would look amazing were in fact, made for taller ladies.) The dress I’m wearing? You can rent it for just $25 – I liked it so much I’m renting it for the rehearsal dinner for a wedding I’m in next month.

Last week’s weekly Gift Guide had a roundup of hostess gifts under $60, which I am obsessed with, but sometimes it’s fun to make something a little more personal. I discovered this idea a few years ago from my aunt and it’s become my go-to [super affordable] DIY gift for a hostess, bff or coworker.
I used to make these fun little crafts with traditional Christmas lights, but when I discovered these LED Twinkle lights, I started using those. It makes it a gift that can be used year-round, not just during the holidays!
Here’s how to make them:
What you’ll need:
- Empty wine bottle
- Razor blade
- Goo Gone
- LED Twinkle Lights
- AA Batteries
- Optional: Bottle stopper, ornament
- Soak an empty wine bottle in warm water:
2. Once your wine bottles have had a few minutes to soak, start scraping the label off with a razor blade.
3. After you’ve scraped as much as you can off the bottles, spray Goo Gone on them and wipe away any remaining residue.
4. Once you’ve cleaned and dried the wine bottle, put the batteries in your lights so you’ll be able to see that they’re evenly distributed as you insert them.
5. Begin stringing your lights into your wine bottle. With lights this small, you shouldn’t need anything to help getting them into the wine bottle.
6. String the lights into the bottle until the battery pack lays on the ground with no extra wire.
7. To add a personal touch, I like to add an ornament and a wine bottle stopper that are personal to whoever I’m giving it to. That way, you’re essentially giving three gifts at once.
I’m back today with another holiday party look! This time, I wanted to share something a little more casual. Not all holiday parties or Christmases with family and friends are dressy – my house certainly isn’t! You can literally never go wrong with black and pops of red, especially when those pops of red are in the form of flannel pumps. I’m actually obsessed!

I got this shearling vest last winter and I knew immediately it would be one of those pieces that becomes a closet staple every year. It’s super versatile, it can be worn casually, like I’ve styled it here, or with a dress and boots, or a sweater and booties – the options are endless.
I love my heels, but some days I’m just in the mood for a pair of punchy flats – today is that day, my friends. The gold on these from Old Navy are simple, but the gold makes them chic.
